National Tree Day

Together with the Val Rosandra Natural Reserve we celebrate today the national Tree Day. The group went for a stroll through woods and meadows up to Mount Goli, when it comes back we end the trip with the olive oil tasting.

Here we are near the Pralnica, ancient public lavatory in the village of Grocana Grozzana, the most eastern corner of Trieste's province.

Visiting Starec family

An enchanting blue sky is lighting up our path today.. And we also have a happy little friend with us!

And here we are together with Roberto Starec. Our group visits the long established tradition of Starec's family in olive-growing in Bagnoli della Rosandra Boljunec. A lovely fireplace keeps us warm while Marisa Cepach explains to our group of travel agents why Trieste's olive oil is so special.

The Valley and the Roots

Our today's historical route starts at the Regional Nature Reserve of the Val Rosandra Visit Centre in Bagnoli della Rosandra. This splendidly organized centre has maps, pictures and scale models of the valley. Absolutely worth a visit, especially for kids!

At the Oil Mill of Dolina Vojko Kocjančič explains us history and usage of this ancient place along with the institution of the "comunella" that ruled the common lands of the village.

And we're hosted by Zahar now, olive oil producer of Sant'Antonio in Bosco-Boršt where the owner Tanja together with the oil expert & sommelier tell our group features of the olive oil produced around the Val Rosandra.
